This case story examines how Westbank First Nation addressed inconsistent training across a diverse workforce of more than 250 people working in education, public works, government, finance, compliance and community services. New employees needed faster onboarding, managers lacked structured tools for difficult conversations and performance issues, and leadership turnover made it challenging to build a consistent, sustainable training program.
The story shows how SafetyNow helped WFN create clear learning paths, connect training directly to internal policies and document completion through one LMS. Short courses gave managers practical support in communication, respect, coaching, impairment recognition and conflict resolution, while new hires received a faster and more consistent introduction to workplace expectations. The partnership is now expanding into culturally grounded onboarding and Indigenous leadership development, including custom content, Okanagan language and structured pathways for future supervisors and managers.
